It’s been great to see the finalists for the inaugural PPS Mutual Risk Practice of the Year Award announced this week. The field was genuinely strong – more than 30 advice practices put their hand up – which says a lot about the depth, professionalism and commitment across the risk advice community right now.
For an industry that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves, it’s refreshing to see an award dedicated purely to life insurance advice and the practices that take it seriously as a core part of the value they deliver.
Congratulations to the 2026 Finalists

These practices rose to the top after a thorough assessment across areas such as customer excellence, commercial strategy, culture, continuous improvement and contribution to the industry. The standard across the entire pool was outstanding, and narrowing the list was no easy task.
On a personal note, it has been a privilege to be involved in the judging. I’ve long believed that risk advice is one of the most under-appreciated parts of the profession, despite often being the part that makes the biggest difference to families when life takes an unexpected turn. Seeing so many strong submissions – and hearing the stories behind how these practices operate – reinforces just how important this work is.
The final round of judging will take place over the coming weeks, including additional assessment and client feedback for each finalist. The winner will be announced ahead of the 2026 Riskinfocus CPD Tour.
Well done again to all the finalists – and to the many practices who came very close. It’s encouraging to see such depth, talent and dedication across the industry.
